Effective asset management planning in Pacific Island countries is critical for the sustainable maintenance and preservation of infrastructure. Condition assessment is an integral part of asset management for those agencies responsible for infrastructure services.

This manual provides a practical methodology for condition assessment for public sector infrastructure assets in Pacific Island countries with limited technical skills and competencies. It is designed to make managing and assessing numerous physical assets easy, and provides a systematic approach to performing a condition assessment for buildings, roads, bridges, culverts, jetties, water and sewer infrastructure, and energy and telecommunications assets.
