This Good Practice Note (GPN) was prepared to assist Task Teams in establishing an approach to identifying risks of Gender Based Violence (GBV), in particular Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and Sexual Harassment (SH), that can emerge in Investment Project Financing (IPF) with major civil works contracts and to advise borrowers accordingly on how to best manage such risks.
The GPN builds on World Bank experience and good international industry practices, including those of other development partners. While World Bank Task Teams are the primary audience, the GPN also aims to contribute to a growing knowledge base on the subject.
