The National Building Code of Tuvalu 2024 has been updated in response to new and improved sea flood level mapping for all the islands of Tuvalu, completed by the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project (TCAP) and the Pacific Community (SPC). The amendment introduces updated minimum finished floor level provisions based on the new flood mapping information. This reduces the risk of new buildings being inundated during storm surge events and enhances resilience to future impacts of climate change-induced sea level rise.
