The Report updates the post-COVID-19 Pacific Short-term Aviation Strategy – A Scoping Study was undertaken in 2020 to review the Pacific aviation landscape and identified priority short-term post-COVID-19 recovery scenarios; identified immediate and short-term priority routes.
Since the 2020 Scoping Study, there have been significant developments, including multiple initiatives by PRIF partners and Pacific Island Countries’ governments. The pandemic has taken a complex trajectory and lasted longer than was anticipated. With all these developments, and in alignment with expectations of a June 2021 Regional Aviation Ministers Meeting (RAMM), the update of the 2020 study is to continue to promote dialogue and cooperation among stakeholders to ensure effective support for Pacific aviation recovery
