The objective of the study is to identify immediate and short-term priority routes and connections and necessary actions that could provide the minimum reliable scheduled air services to transport people and goods, jumpstart businesses and facilitate projects and investments toward economic recovery.

An Inception Report providing details of the study has been shared with the PRIF partners and member countries.  Consultations are ongoing and the study team has discussed with several Pacific countries and regional agencies including the Association of the South Pacific Airlines (ASPA) and the Pacific Aviation Safety Office (PASO). The team expects to complete the draft report by September.

Its envisaged that the results and the recommendations of this study will inform discussions and help build consensus on the way forward for the aviation industry in the Pacific region.

L&B Worldwide Australia has been commissioned to undertake the study.
